Hastings Chamb-Arrrgh’s Summer Social

Ahoy members… This July we’re excited to be working with Black Cat Treasure Hunts for our Hastings Chamber Summer Social Event!

Black Cat Treasure Hunts was established by Tim Carter in 2012 as a way to utilise his creative writing skills. Over the last decade, Tim has gone on to successfully produce a range of downloadable treasure hunts for participants across Sussex through his extensive knowledge of all the various places within the county.

Tim is working with the Chamber to design a bespoke hunt, that will take our members around the Hastings Old Town, finding out more about the place many of our businesses call home.

How it works: Teams will be comprised of six, giving you the chance to meet with both new and old connections, where you will work together to find all the clues. There will be 5-6 challenges in which involves taking photos and video clips of things you see or do on the way, being themed around Hastings, as well as 30 questions which will be in order and provide the route.

Following the treasure hunt, we will be heading over to Old Town Meze & BBQ for some food (platters of chicken shish, lamb shish, adana kebab, chicken wings, and lamb ribs, served with rice, salad hummus, cacik, and Turkish bread plus vegetarian options available), with the opportunity to stay on afterwards and socialise.

Hastings train station is under a 20-minute walk away, or alternatively the nearest paid car parking available at Rock-a-Nore or Pelham Place.

The meeting point for this event is Butler’s Gap (Chess Square) along George Street in Hastings Old Town
