June Members Meeting – with The Bright Foundation
For our June meeting, we will be heading over to St Leonards to visit our members’ The Bright Foundation at one of its premises to hear from them as well as others about the Filming Industry in Hastings!
The Bright Foundation is an arts education charity near Hastings which was founded by Academy Award winning costume designer and philanthropist, John Bright. It offers life enhancing creative programmes to children and young people. Polly Risbridger, Chief Executive Officer at The Bright Foundation, will be speaking about the work they do to support young people in the local area with free creative and educational activities.
At this meeting, we will also be joined by:
- Julia Andrews-Clifford, Creative Director at Electric Palace Cinema
- Stella Landau, 1066 Country Film Office (Part of Hastings Borough Council)
- Louis Norton Selzer, Writer/Director/Editor
Who will be speaking about the planning behind filming locations in the 1066 Country, independent film makers and other aspects of the behind-the-scenes of the film & television industry!
This meeting will take place at Benbow Arts Space and will include our usual friendly style of informal networking over some breakfast, before we hear from Polly and the other speakers, with plenty of opportunities to network afterwards.
Getting there: St Leonards Warrior Square train station is a 6-minute walk via Kings Road. Alternatively, if you are travelling by car, the closest parking places are Crystal Square Car Park (RingGo) or on-road parking down nearby roads.
