January’s Meeting: Understanding Local Government Changes and Their Impact on Business

For our first event of the new year, join us for an important and insightful meeting which will explore how upcoming local government changes could shape the future of our business community.

To start with we’re pleased to welcome Julia Hilton, Deputy Leader of Hastings Borough Council, who will be outlining the council’s budget plans and share what this means for local businesses. Julia will be sharing updates on the council’s financial priorities, as well as the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

We will then meet Richard Freeman, CEO and Founder of Always Possible, who is leading independent discussion across the county for an open discussion on devolution – what it really means for businesses in Hastings and Sussex, how it could affect local business, and what the new responsibilities of the Mayor of Sussex will entail.

This meeting will provide valuable insights into how these developments may impact your business, offering a platform for open conversation about how we as a community can work together to navigate change and build resilience for the future.

Given the packed agenda we have brought the start of the meeting forward to 7:30am for a prompt 8:00am start from our speakers.

This meeting will take place at the Hastings Centre on the Ridge and will include our usual friendly style of informal networking over some breakfast before we hear from Julia and Richard, with more opportunities to network afterwards.

Getting there: There is onsite parking available at the Hastings Centre which takes payment via Pay By Phone.
