November’s Meeting: Joint Meeting with Hastings Means Business

For our November meeting, Hastings Chamber is joining forces with Hastings Means Business, the business network for Hastings United Football Club, for a morning at the Pilot Bar. We’ll find out more about the club’s development plans for its grounds, as well as hear from Kurt J. Lesker Company, whose European headquarters is right here in Hastings.

Paul Wilson, Director of Hastings United FC, will be sharing with us the developments taking place at the club’s grounds. The Chamber first visited the Pilot Field back in March 2023, so it will be great to catch up with the club to hear what has been happening since and also what’s to come.

We’re also pleased to be welcoming guest speakers from Kurt J. Lesker. Founded in 1954 in the US and based in Hastings since 1991, Kurt J. Lesker Company manufactures and distributes vacuum science equipment for research laboratories and high-tech industries. They now employ close to 600 people around the world and continue to invest in Hastings as its European Headquarters. John Naylor, Head of Process Equipment Division, and Jon Ward, Manufacturing Product Specialist, will be talking about their history, why the company chose Hastings for its European base and how it came to be connected with the football club.

This meeting will take place at the Pilot Bar (entrance via the main gates to the Football Club) and will include our usual friendly style of informal networking over some breakfast before we hear from our speakers, with plenty of opportunities to network afterwards.

Getting there: There is free on-road parking outside the entrance to the Pilot Field, as well as parking in the car park by the Sports and Social Club.
