September’s Meeting: Devolution and What It Means for Your Business
This September, join us for an important and timely discussion on devolution and what it could mean for the future of our business community.
We’re pleased to finally welcome Richard Freeman, CEO and Founder of Always Possible, to the Chamber for an open discussion on devolution. Richard will explain what the devolution deal for Sussex involves and how it relates to existing councils and structures, before looking at what it’s likely to mean in practice for Hastings and local businesses – including where decisions may be made in future and what to keep an eye on. He’ll also touch on how devolution connects to some of the wider local concerns businesses are already talking about, and where to go for further information if you want to stay informed or feed your voice into the ongoing decision-making process.
This will be a practical, big-picture session rather than a detailed policy breakdown, giving you a clear grounding in what the new strategic authority is, how it fits alongside existing council responsibilities, and what we do (and don’t yet) know about timelines and next steps.
Our September meeting will provide valuable insight into how these developments may impact your business, offering a platform for open conversations about how, as a business community, we can work together to navigate change and build resilience for the future.
This meeting will take place at the Hastings Centre and will include our usual friendly style of informal networking over some breakfast before we hear from Richard, with more opportunities to network afterwards.
Getting there: On-site parking is available at the Hastings Centre, which accepts payment via Pay By Phone.
